Computer software and databases
Computer software and databases relate to copyright objects, which arise by virtue of their creation, but may be registered with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks (ROSPATENT) at the right holder’s will, with subsequent issue of the relevant certificate.
A database is a totality of independent materials (articles, calculations, regulatory acts, court decisions, or other similar materials) presented in an objective form and systematized in such a way that the above materials could be found and processed by means of a computer.
Computer software is a totality of data and instructions presented in an objective form and intended for operation of computers and other computing devices for the purpose of obtaining a particular result, including preparatory materials obtained in the course of development of computer software, as well as audiovisual presentations generated thereby.

For notification of his rights, the right holder may use the copyright protection symbol ©, accordingly. In this case, the right holder’s name and the date of the first issue of computer software, or database are also to be specified.
